Concert Programs

Elizabeth and Andrew’s shared passion for music of all styles drives them to explore and create programs without boundaries. A typical Terra Voce concert spans diverse musical styles and traditions and includes compositions specifically written for flute and cello alongside the ensemble’s own cross-genre arrangements of tangos by Astor Piazzolla, Brazilian choro by Pixinguinha, European traditional folk sets, and music of Baroque masters such as J.S. Bach and Marin Marais.

Current Programs

“Bridging the Gap”
An exploration of the intersection between classical and folk styles.

“Água e Vinho”
This program centers on music from South America and the Iberian Peninsula.

“The Frost is All Over”
An audience favorite, this program is based on Terra Voce’s CD of winter-themed/holiday music from around the world.

Trio Concerts
Terra Voce frequently performs concerts with local pianists, including internationally acclaimed pianist Maria Yefimova.

As soon as the first notes paint the air you know you’re in for something special. These guys have some of the purest tone in town.

– Jeff Romano
Jimmy Dog Studios

I have been meaning to write you to tell you how much we enjoyed your performance… We were surprised and quite pleased with the breadth of your program… and your introduction to each piece was charming, informative, and also felt so personal. I have been to the Met, many times to the ballet, and to Broadway shows, and your performance was as good as any I have ever seen.

— D. M.
audience member, Cafe Stage at C’Ville Coffee, Charlottesville, VA

What an outstanding, thrilling program you two presented. Your individual unique virtuosity was awesome. I don’t really have the right words to express to you how much I enjoyed your performance. All I can say is that I was treated to one of the most exciting and fulfilling musical programs I have ever seen or heard.

– L. S.
audience member, Crozet Library Soiree concert, Crozet, VA

Not a surprise was the quality of some of the solo performances from the orchestra, especially principal flute Elizabeth Brightbill…

– James Watts
Tulsa World (Tulsa Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor)

Hamlisch’s music from the film “Sophie’s Choice” was presented well nigh perfectly, highlighted by a pair of excellent solos from cellist Andrew Gabbert.
